Meadows Primary School and Nursery

The Quiet Room

Welcome to the Quiet Room at Meadows Primary School and Nursery, a small and welcoming space dedicated to supporting our school community. This room is designed to provide a private and comfortable environment where professionals can meet with children and families for confidential discussions. It serves as a safe haven for conversations, a place to talk openly, and a new space where counselling and other therapeutic services can be offered.

Our commitment at Meadows Primary School and Nursery is to ensure that every member of our school family has the opportunity to aspire, grow, and flourish. The Quiet Room is a testament to this commitment, offering a supportive setting that fosters emotional well-being and personal development. Whether it’s for one-on-one counselling sessions, family meetings, or other therapeutic interventions, this space is here to help our students and their families navigate challenges and achieve their full potential.

We believe that by providing such a nurturing environment, we can make a positive impact on the lives of our children and their families, helping them to thrive both academically and personally. The Quiet Room is more than just a space; it is a cornerstone of our dedication to the holistic growth and flourishing of our school community.

Here are some of the key activities that take place in The Quiet Room:

  1. Counselling Sessions: One-on-one or group counselling sessions to help students and families navigate personal challenges and improve mental health.
  2. Therapeutic Interventions: Various therapies, such as play therapy, art therapy, and speech therapy, to support emotional and developmental needs.
  3. Family Meetings: Private discussions between school staff and families to address concerns, plan interventions, and provide support.
  4. Mentoring: Sessions where students can receive guidance and support from mentors to help them achieve their personal and academic goals.
  5. Conflict Resolution: A safe space for mediating and resolving conflicts among students or between students and staff.
  6. Well-being Support: Support focused on topics like stress management, mindfulness, and emotional regulation to promote overall well-being.

These activities are designed to create a supportive and nurturing environment, ensuring that every member of our school family has the opportunity to aspire, grow, and flourish.
