I am Mrs Tarran, teacher of Year 6 - Oak Class. I feel very lucky to be able to teach in a school that is a welcoming and exciting place to be and a school where my own children have attended/ attend- a testament to my belief that this school is the place to be!
I have been teaching at Meadows for almost 9 years. I became a teacher in 2005 after completing a PGCE from Wolverhampton University. Prior to this, I completed a BSc (Hons) In Human Biology and Health Science.
Proudly, I am Meadows writing lead (jointly shared with Mrs Johnson), the science lead (SLE) and the lead for Outdoor Learning and Road Safety.

Additionally, I am involved in a local judo group, am a volunteer at Wellington Cricket Club and I adore an evening curled up with a good book.

Mrs Elizabeth ThorpeEYFS Lead
Mrs Elizabeth Thorpe
As Early Years leader, I’m committed to supporting the children at Meadows to thrive as they move through school and feel excited to be part of all that our wonderful school offers.
I’m passionate about ensuring that all children achieve their full potential and develop an enjoyment for learning in an active, positive, caring and enriching environment. I feel strongly that children in the Foundation Stage must experience a balance of child-initiated and adult-directed activities, where their individual progress can be carefully enhanced and celebrated.
I’ve worked at Meadows since January 2017 and have thoroughly enjoyed my time here, building connections with colleagues and families within the Meadows community. It is a privilege to see the children right at the start of their educational journey and to influence and give them the very best in their journey through school.
My other responsibilities in school include being a Designated Safeguarding Lead and Early Reading Leader. Prior to working at Meadows, I’ve taught in Early Years and Key Stage One at schools in Shropshire, Wolverhampton and Telford and Wrekin. In addition to my current role, I’m also an SLE (Specialist Leader of Education) for Telford and Wrekin and enjoy supporting other schools to develop their Early Years settings. I believe that the greatest responsibility in any school is that children receive the highest quality of education and that they are happy, safe and secure at school.
