I have been the Headteacher at Meadows Primary School and Nursery since the school opened
in 2005. As Headteacher I attend all Governing Body meetings, including committee meetings. I ensure that suggestions about school improvement are shared with staff and that information about school is shared with Governors.
I have been a Parent Governor since 2010 and more recently in the role as the Vice Chair. I currently sit on the Finance & Personnel, Salaries & Grades, Premises and Health & Safety Committee together with the Strategic Leadership Committee. My professional background is within Finance and I am a Director of a Financial Advice Practice. I have one child who is thoroughly enjoying his time in Meadows Primary.
Cllr Joy Francis
I have lived in Ketley all my life and have been a Governor for about 6 years. I was appointed by Telford and Wrekin Council when I was a Borough Councillor for Ketley, but now that term has ended I have stayed on as an Appeals Governor and Finance and Personnel, Salaries and Grades, Premises and Health and Safety Governor.I have been in education all my working life teaching in various schools in the area. Now I run two Daycare Nurseries in Wellington. On the Governoring body I have responsibility for Children in care and sit on Finance, and Health, Safety & Buildings Committees. I am Link Governor for Early Years Foundation Stage which I love as it enables me to visit classes and play with the children!
I have four sons, all grown up now, and all of whom started their educational journey at Ketley Infant School - as did I many years ago!
I have worked in education for the last 16 years working at both Ketley Infants School and now at Meadows Primary School and Nursery. I have worked in my current position as Learning Mentor for the last 6 years. I have been a school governor since 2006 and am fully committed to supporting students, families and staff at Meadows Primary School and Nursery. I am proud to say I am part of the Meadows Primary team.
I have been a Parent Governor since January 2014 and currently sit on the Finance and Personnel, Salaries and Grades, Premises and Health and Safety Committee. My background is in business finance and company management and I have also spent time working as a childminder. I have two children at Meadows, one in Year 3 and one in Year 4. It's very exciting being part of a team helping Meadows grow into an outstanding school.
I have been a Parent Governor since January 2014 and am currently on the Curriculum, Standards and Attendance Committee. My background is in education throughout the Primary Phase. I have two children, one of whom is enjoying his education at Meadows Primary School.
I am thoroughly enjoying the role of Governor; being a tiny part of the team that strives to provide the best levels of education to all children so that they can achieve their full potential.
My position of governor at Meadows Primary School and Nursery began in 2005. Initially I was elected as a parent governor and I am now a co-opted member. I currently sit on the Strategic Leadership Appeals, Grievance, Complaints and Pupil Discipline and Curriculum, Standards and Attendance committees and have the role of link governor for Special Educational Needs. I have a daughter at Meadows and a son at HLC secondary. I am a teacher at The Bridge School and have previously taught at William Reynolds Infants School. I am delighted to be part of a team striving to give our children the best education possible.
I have worked in the education system now for approximately 10 years. I joined Meadows Primary School in 2009 working in Key Stage 1. Throughout the last 8 years I have worked with pupils in years 1 to 5. I have undertaken a great deal of training during this period ensuring I remain up to date with the latest curriculum. I am a qualified cover supervisor ensuring seamless delivery in the absence of the teacher. In addition to my core duties within school, I also currently help to deliver Film Club and After School Club. I am very pleased to have been elected on to the board of school governors as a staff governor and I hope this position will enable me to improve the education that our children receive.
